CP, new version even more ng dim....

What is the age of the student? If big enough, parents part becomes weak. If small and underage, it will never make it to the big screen.

We do have law to abide too..... (If this is a underground stuff, I wanna copy.)

Cheers.

Your story is ng dim............ you need both 拳頭 and 枕頭 :-)
_______________________________________________________

Ben and thekong,

How about I rewrite it like this :

The parents thought their kid embrace music so they sent it to the piano teacher. The piano teacher murdered the music, seduced the child and blackmailed the parents with indecent photos of the child for a ransom. The parents were furious and asked the kid to take every opportunity to kill the teacher. But the kid loved the teacher after their "music" making, so it murdered the piano instead. The kid was sent back home without the music as the piano teacher receiving the ransom, seduced another child, asked for an even more outrageous ransom to buy another piano. And it goes on and on..........................

Any better? :-)

Your story is too bloody. There is in fact a more peaceful ending and nobody's hurt. It goes like this :

The parents thought their kid embrace music so they sent it to the piano teacher. The piano teacher murdered the music, kidnapped the child and blackmailed the parents for an indecent ransom. The parents were furious and asked the kid to take every opportunity to kill the teacher. But the kid loved the teacher as it didn't like music neither, so it murdered the piano instead. The kid was sent back home without the music as the piano teacher took on another child, asked for an even more outrageous ransom to buy another piano. And it goes on and on..........................

Er... Mr. PHDs....,

My intelligence is not high enough to carry the topic to philosophy.

For all I know, I am a bad student in music. Still struggling with the stupid piano and after 1 yr, I am thinking of quitting. My original plan is to set an example for my kids but I did not plan to set a bad one.....

Shoot......

kh,

I agree he has personality defect and he did not aware of it when he was a small boy. I saw the worries in his mother's eyes when he was interviewed by RTHK. Now he is more mature and he must have awared of his 'abnormal' behaviour when communicating with people. I will go for his concert next time to see if there is any improvement. Finger crossed and I believe this kid can make it.

' He found conventional pieces too boring probably.... He played Bach and his face shows that he would kill himself soon..'

Then why choose to play them on the first hand.,for commercial reasons? If this is the case then he is showing disrespect to the instrument, the composer and the audience.

______________________________________________________

' Mellow down is a must for him'

Will he ever mellow down ? I doubted. This is a personality defect. Did other famous violinists(past and present) show similar behaviour? Not that I've heard of.

' -The fact that Li is a spoiled prodigy bears a lot of resemblance to Mozart that we talked about in the other thread. '

If Li is as talented and gifted as Mozart, then all his abnormal wild behaviour can be excused, but unfortunately he is not , in fact, far, far from it.

I think I went to the same concerts. He found conventional pieces too boring probably.... He played Bach and his face shows that he would kill himself soon... very dissatisfied from his own playing/music and he actually didn't mind showing it.

He seems to be very impatient and trying too hard to dominate the instrument. Doing this not as a show but he actually really enjoys doing so. This is the real problem I see in his playing.

Mellow down is a must for him unless he wanna be a showman for the rest of his life. Yet, showman are fun to watch once in a while. If I were able to give advice, I would hope he can put down his violin and find another job for a while, whatever job that is real and normal. He needs a life.

Of coz, everything I said is BS in general. I am floored by his playing and will be happy to tie shoelace for him.

Hi BenYC,

I agree with what you said. The first time I atttended his concert, he acted like a 5 years old kid, jumping up and down on stage. He behaved much better the second time I attended his recital and he invited his girlfriend to play an encore for the audience. He is growing slowly but with surprising good progress recently, His playings are always full of feeling and very passionate and I wish him the very best in the future.

If we really go into details, maybe we should see how he has been growing up. Ever since he has been classified as a prodigy, he has no more normal education. Even while enrolled in school, there would be special arrangement and minimal class attended. Practically, he has less chance to 'interact" with people. With nothing in life except violin, his growth is unbalanced and sloooooooow. At least he still has the passion to make things his way to challenge himself or authority.

Lets wait and see how he will turn out.

Morning Ben,

Love your 'Chuan Yun Li plays Zigeunerweisen' clip, lots of spirit and playfulness in his musical exploration, so much so that I almost get a sense he wants a break from the discipline of classical music. Reminds me of Stéphane Grappelli. Thanks again Ben and Happy Father's Day!
