回覆 (283): German city introduces "tax meters" for prostitutes
(Reuters) - Prostitutes in the German city of Bonn must carry a ticket purchased from a new parking meter-like machine while working the streets or face hefty fines from tax authorities in a scheme launched on Monday night.

In Germany, ladies of the night pay income tax -- the level of which varies from region to region -- but compliance is difficult to enforce with women seeking business on the street.

Germany's first "sex tax meters", from which prostitutes can purchase a ticket for 6 euros per night, will ensure the tax system is fairly implemented, a city spokeswoman said.

"Inspectors will monitor compliance -- not every evening but frequently," the spokeswoman told Reuters.

If caught without a valid ticket, offenders will first be reprimanded, then face fines and later even a ban.

About 200 prostitutes work in Bonn. Due to protests from residents, city officials have limited the areas of operation to specific quarters.

But critics say this has made it easier for prostitutes to ply their trade. The city has erected what officials call "consummation areas", wooden parking garages where customers driving cars can retreat to with prostitutes.

but you are "the cook' daiwok. For the Food and Wine at my den. I dont think the many high hands will settle with just a starter and steak from the recent response. Steam fish, sea foods etc......etc.. Can you take care of one or two dishes and I take care of four since i can make the preparation earlier. I will have a part time for three hours handling the dish washing and cleaning. Just cooking.

No idea about the microcontrollers, but I think the display could be switched off or put into sleep mode, in which it would only light up for a few seconds to show the new settings after receiving a command.

itchy pat pat?
--------------------------------

DIY is to cure the itchy here and there la! Do it yourself ma!

Actually, thats partly true. Need to be a bit itchy to have seperate power supply for a preamp with line stage only. We really care less for the CD, right!

For phono, the answer is yes, please. I am sure we all well heard of and aware of the many reasons/advantages behind. Even just the transformer alone in a serperate unit is more than a marketing gimick!

In short, I rather build a phono and line preamp under one chassis with a seperate power supply than a one piece phono and a one piece preamp.

I'm no fans of Audio Research, or any brand, for that matter.
The reasons I keep so many of certain brands and models:

a) these items are regarded as classics
b) construction is solid and maintenance is easy (can be fixed by AV Walkman, ie)
c) liquidity --- popular and recognized by our brethrens north of the border so if I’m ever strapped for cash…….
d) potential to appreciate --- at least I won’t lose my shirt
e) passion --- Fei Keung has to like the product in the first place. I was in a karaoke in Shenzhen last night and the hostess was kissing me on the lips --- I just could not imagine myself doing the same if I were in her shoes: kissing an ugly disgusting old fart ……..

Dr On9Keung,

I respect that you read such books. I have been in surgery and surgical courses for the last 6 to 7 years and I am still learning the terminology, yet even after all these years I am only focused in one particular area of surgery. I’m no medical doctor so this text book, which is primarily intended for surgery students, has not been an easy read for me. My brother having lived with liver cancer and having undergone various treatments over the past 7 years, I have gained some basic knowledge of the subject, thanks to friends and relatives in the medical profession who have helped me along.
By the way, Fan Sheung Tat and Choi Ho Keung, whom I’ve known for almost two decades, were in our Doc KH’s class at University of Hong Kong Medical School, yet our KH looks at least ten years younger…..
