回覆 (268): Happy man! Finally!
Is LSC-2370 good vinyl?

----------------------------------------------
I have came to the conclusion long ago that when it comes to RCA records, I just buy for the different interpreters that you couldn't possibly get from DGG, Philips, Decca or EMI. Even if they were originally fairly good recordings, its almost always impossible to get a good condition LSC original (shaded dog). Not mainly because they are rare finds but the record condition itself usually far from excellent.

Some say their remaster CDs even worst. I cant comment because I only have two LSC CDs.

So, my say is if you are confident about the condition and if the price is right. Go go go! You cant be too wrong with Rubinstien. Its mostly just a matter of personal liking when you reach to the tip of the interpreters triangle!

Look out for RCA with SB-XXXX please. They are likely made by Decca UK. Commonly very good quality. In the actual record label, its written as Made in England by the Decca Company.....

The LSC-2370 is one of my all time record. Mine is also just a Red Seal. Not bad at all! The ballade No1 and No4 to me are the best music to my head. To be very honest, the more interesting the music, the less attention I pay for the recording!

I prefer Zimmerman than Rubinstein when it comes to Chopin and Kempff over Rubinstein for Beethoven
______

If you have done your compare listening, congratulations on finding your true love.
Rubinstein's Chopin is superb. Zimmerman is good at many works and Kempff's Beethoven is solid but a bit boring.

I don't think Kempff is a good interpreter of Chopin's music. I would go for Rubinstein instead.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
You are most probably correct but the thing is I am far from being qualified to comment further and have absolutely no way to verify. Music, not a virtue I possess lor! Vice, I have plenty lor! But having said that, I suppose I can say from my heart that I prefer Zimmerman than Rubinstein when it comes to Chopin and Kempff over Rubinstein for Beethoven lor! Silly & Shallow! Right?

I don't think the subject is about Chopin at the moment ....

At first, she appear to be just another ok looking chick but if you manage to keep on staring for a few more seconds, somehow she kind of suck you in, right? Took me more than a decade to gather all three volumes of Kempff on Chopin.

Not worth particularly huge amongst Decca SXL ED1 (Original Recordings) but piano music always my favorite lor! The Kempff volumes were recorded in the Decca studios in London Hempstead between 1958 to 1959.

It was a time when Kempff was not exclusive to DGG yet. His early interpretations were very different from his mid to late recordings. Very different!

After more than 12 lonely months since Dennis took away my much loved Helius Orion tonearm from the Pink Triangle.. Here I finally got the edge to gather myself together to tailor cut a new armboard, repaint the turntable and build a DC regulated power supply for the once Linn LP12 eater, the Pink Triangle is now with "the best tonearm in the world".

Don’t forget, btw, that first pressing is rare among LP users. I bet most analogue diehards don’t have many 1st pressings
and yet they would swear LPs are the best.

In my humble opinion, there is really no comparison at all lor! However, if you want to have fun and really insist to do an A----B. Should be no less than bringing in a first edition LP when comparing to a high res CAS la. Forget about second or third edition LP lor! The CAS remaster surely didn't derive from nothing other than a master tape. Right? Be fair lor!

回覆 (230): Car to a Bike or Bike to a Car!
Almost every single sports car or prestige car brands nowadays have produced a road bike with their names on. The latest is Alfa Romeo. Below is an Alfa bike picture together with an Alfa Romeo 4C front with its famous 5 rings alloy wheels.

Cross branding it may seems. I think is more to do with boosting up a sporty image of their Car. Next time when you buy a car, make sure you also check out the bikes they produced. It may tell you something about the status and image of the car itself.

For now, the most expensive, unique and strongest associations between a car brand and a bike manufacturer is as follow:

Ferrari and Colnago
Lambo and BMC
McLaren and Specalized
